A Question About Outlook

Recently I was asked a question about Outlook 2007 and an earlier version of Outlook.

The question was, "I have an incorrect email address in the To: drop-down list, how can I get rid of the incorrect address?"

There are two answers to this question;

If you are using Outlook 2010;

Open a New Email Message.

Start typing the Name or Email Address, the first few characters should do.

Use your Arrow Keys to select the incorrect Name or Email Address.  If you use the mouse Outlook will think that you are wanting to put the Name or Email Address into the To: field.

Once you have the incorrect Name or Email Address selected use the X to the right side of the selection, or you could use your Delete Key.

If you are using Outlook 2007 or earlier

Here is how you can delete the incorrect Names or Email Address in the "Outlook Auto-Complete List."
Create a new email message in Outlook.

Start typing the name or address you want to remove, the first few characters should do.

Use the Arrow Keys to navigate to the incorrect Name or Email Address.

Use the Delete Key.
